Each year, third-level students study the parts of mountains and learn about the largest mountains around the world. At the end of the lesson, students go on a "magical" field trip to the nearest mountain—right here on campus! Students labeled the parts of the mountain with illustrated signs they made in the classroom. The Montessori Lower Elementary program is based on the belief that children learn best through movement and work with their hands, where thinking and memory are further enhanced by creativity and imagination.
