A Taste for Change

This week, over 150 RPS middle and high school students gathered to sample and evaluate potential new lunch menu items. Dishes ranged from ramen and hot honey pizza to Korean chicken, which was especially popular. CBS 6 recaps the day and shares more on this student-led initiative. Spoiler alert: These options are heavily kid-approved!

Mission and Purpose

Armstrong High School’s Fashion Marketing students held a soft opening for Kat’s Boutique — a student-run clothing closet offering free clothing, prom gowns, essentials, and hygiene products — and the Richmond Free Press was there to capture the moment. The boutique, developed by students and teacher Natasha Moorer, was created in just a few months with donations from local organizations like Dynamic Affirmations Group.

Beautification Blooms

Henderson Middle School’s Beautification Day brought together students, families, staff, and volunteers to transform the school’s courtyard and garden. With support from a community garden grant and Seeds of Hope AME Church, the group planted fresh flowers and garden beds, and rejuvenated picnic areas.
